The Ups and Downs of JFK

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, one of the famous persons (people?) in the world, was elected for (the) 35^th president for United States in 1961. He was the youngest president in the US history. During his term of office, He faced many difficult events, the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Cuban Missile Crises, the building of the Berlin wall, and the African-American Civil Rights Movements. In these situations, he tried to support peace for world, racial integration, and civil right for minority. However, John Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963. Despite his short period of presidency, He (he) achieved many things(other word?) in diverse fields, and many people still remember and talked about him (today?).
